THE CONSTITUTION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION (1993)
- The Prosecution Service of the Russian Federation shall be the single centralized structure in which prosecutors are subordinate to superior prosecutors and the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
- The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation shall be appointed and dismissed by the Council of Federation* upon the proposal of the President of the Russian Federation.
- The prosecutors of the subjects of the Russian Federation shall be appointed by the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation by agreement with these subjects.
- Other prosecutors shall be appointed by the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
- The powers, organization and procedures of the functioning of the Prosecution Service of the Russian Federation shall be determined by Federal Law.
